WHAT TO EXPECT? The most important part of establishing a good attorney-client relationship is the initial consultation. At the outset, you have a right to know what attorney fees you will pay. We disclose this upfront, so there will be no surprises. In most cases, we can quote you either a fixed fee, based on our estimate of the time involved in your case, or quote you an hourly rate. In general, my hourly rate is $250. During your initial consultation, we will review your situation, discuss what goals you would like to achieve, and talk about the law that applies to your situation. I will give you my honest assessment of your case, and explain the steps that will be required to achieve your goals. At the end of our consultation, I do not expect you to decide immediately whether to retain me as your attorney. You should not feel pressured into making such an important decision. Instead, I mail you a written retainer agreement, outlining the matters we discussed during the initial evaluation. If you decide to retain me, you simply sign the retainer agreement and mail it back to our office. Once the attorney-client relationship is established, we go to work achieving your legal goals. .
